'Wakie app' lets you hear a stranger’s voice each day and not the boring alarm bell.

Launched in 2011, the app has currently 1.5 million users on android and windows phone. Wakie after nine-month wait is now also available on iOS, a mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc.

The app developer call their discovery a “social alarm clock” and “a friendly community of people who wake each other up in the morning.”

Person using the app gets a call from another user of the app to wish you good-morning at exact the set time of his or her alarm.

The calls that come on the app are anonymous and not display the phone number of the caller.

One can hear user singing, telling jokes or any other creative way to kickstart a day.

The users in India, however, can only register to wake up people and not get wake up calls as of now.
