The gallery of Bangalore-based Galleryske will also showcase works of artists like Krishnaraj Chonat, Sheela Gowda, Sakshi Gupta, Prabhavathi Meppayil, Srinivasa Prasad, Sreshta Rit Premnath, Mariam Suhail, Anup Mathew Thomas, Navin Thomas and Avinash Veeraraghavan.

While south Delhi is considered an art hub, with majority of private art galleries situated in this area, mostly in Lado Sarai, the founder of the gallery chose Connaught Place for its avant garde feel.

"I have always loved Connaught Place, and the energy surrounding it. While there are areas that feel derelict, the buildings in contrast are very avant garde," gallery founder Sunitha Kumar Emmart said.

"Our new gallery space is shockingly in tune for the time. The building was originally built at some point in the 1940s, and it was the facade that most caught my attention,” she said.

"When I first went inside with my architect, Annalisa Bellettati, and discovered this phenomenal raw but contemporary space, I knew we had found the ideal location," she added.

Works of all 13 artists will be displayed till January 4.
