Both the Sony Xperia M and Xperia M dual were launched in June this year. Both the smartphones have almost similar specifications, except the Xperia M dual having dual-SIM smartphone.

Sony has revealed via the tweet that the Xperia M and Xperia M dual will be getting performance upgrades, apart from user-interface and camera tweaks. The updates for both Xperia M and Xperia M dual smartphones are available over-the-air (OTA), and also through the PC Companion desktop app.

Sony has mentioned no specific time for the Sony Xperia M and Xperia M dual firmware updates, though the timing and availability may vary by market and carrier. The Japanese manufacturer has also revealed no plans for updating the Xperia M to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, as the smartphone runs on Android 4.1 natively while the Xperia M dual is based on Android 4.2.
