Shimla: After the swearing-in of Virbhadra Singh as sixth Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, newly inducted ministers have started hectic lobbying to grab plum post in the state Cabinet.

The Chief Minister had decided to distribute the portfolios to the ministers but no consensus was arrived in this regard. GS Bali and Sujan Singh Pathania are striving hard to grab Health Department, while Kaul Singh is eyeing on Education Department.

Earlier it was decided that Vidya Stokes, Thakur Singh Bharmouri, Mukesh Agnihotri, Sudhir Sharma, Prakash Chaudhary, Sujan Singh Pathania and GS Bali will look after the Public Works and Horticulture, Environment, Industries, Tourism, Animal Husbandry, Health and Public Welfare, Transport and Irrigation and Public Health respectively.

Virbhadra Singh Cabinet has equal balance of regional and caste equation. Stokes, who was one of the strong contenders for CM post, was given charge of plum department.

Both Virbhadra Singh and Vidya Stokes hail from Shimla, while Kaul Singh and Prakash Chaudhary will represent Mandi district in the state Cabinet. Mukesh Agnihotri from Una has been sworn-in as minister in Virbhadra Singh Cabinet, while Kuldeep Kumar is likely to be made Assembly Speaker.

Thakur Singh Bharmouri and Rajesh Dharmani from Chamba have also been inducted into the state Cabinet.
