Authorities on Tuesday foiled the plan of separatists to hold a rally at Eidgah in old city by placing several senior Hurriyat leaders under house arrest and deploying large number of security forces in Srinagar.

An FIR was on Monday registered against social networking site Facebook on a complaint that claimed a group on the site exhorts people to slaughter cows, police said.
