The new A4 is expected to feature an evolutionary look with sharper lines, and also is likely to be noticeably bigger in comparison to the current model. Audi is really working on differentiating the vehicle from the smaller A3 sedan which bears a similar design.

The new A4 will make use of the MLB Evo platform which should help in weight saving of about 100kg over the existing model. Besides the regular turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, Audi could also introduce a plug-in hybrid variant powered by a 211bhp, 2-litre TFSI engine paired with a 95bhp electric motor.

The new A4 will be showcased later this year. Until then, Audi will have to continue with the B8 A4 which faces stiff competition here in the Indian car market in the form of the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C-Class
