Jaipur: Ahead of presentation of the budget in the Rajasthan Assembly, representatives of several NGOs met Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and appealed to him to accord priority to public welfare sector.

In a pre-budget meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, representatives of 70 NGOs suggested him to increase tax on tobacco products and initiate more schemes for social security and women empowerment, officials said.

After the meeting, Gehlot assured the NGO workers that their suggestions will be incorporated in the state budget.
