Kolkata: The night service of train will resume in the Jangalmahal region in West Bengal, which was stopped due to the Maoist attacks and the Gyaneshwari train mishap in 2010.

VN Tripathi, Member Staff Railway Board, on Monday announced it after meeting with WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Writers Building in Kolkata.

Talking to reporters, Tripathi said talks were held on the issue of security of railway tracks, law and order and night service of train operation in Jangalmahal.

He said that no compromise could be made on the security of travelers. The train operation in night can be started only after ensuring proper security.
