The actress who is excited to share screen space with Akshay Kumar in 'Airlift' said, "I've signed a film called 'Airlift' opposite Akshay. It's a very good story and we will shoot in Abu Dhabi. It is based on a real life story and I am very excited to work in this film."

The film produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series along with Cape of Good Films, Crouching Tigers and Emmay Entertainment will have Akshay playing Ranjit Katyal, a billionaire businessman who aids the high-profile rescue operation.

Nimrat who has played a role of a young housewife in ‘The Lunchbox’ will share the screen with Akshay Kumar for the first time.

Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, 'Airlift' is said to be based on the Indians who were stuck in Kuwait during the Gulf War.

Bhushan Kumar, producer T-Series, said, “The story is about Ranjit played by Akshay Kumar who helps in the world’s biggest human evacuation. We were looking for an actress with a strong persona to play his wife which will do justice to the strong emotional support the lead character needs. Nimrat has done a really good job in her previous films and made a mark in the industry. I am happy she is on board for the role.”

The film is expected to go on floors in March or April in 2015.
