She is being nominated to the board in place of Ramnik H Ambani, the elder brother of group's late chairman Dhirubhai Ambani, who is retiring at the age of 90 years.

Apparently, RIL will seek shareholders’ approval at its annual general meeting on June 18 for the induction of Nita Ambani.

Nita currently heads non-profit Reliance Foundation and is also closely engaged in running Ambani-owned Mumbai Indians IPL team. The non-profit body focuses on rural transformation, healthcare and education.
