New Delhi: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s agitation is fast gaining momentum with support pouring in from every corner. The political fraternity too seems to have joined the bandwagon as the Bhartiya Janata Party has announced its support to the yoga guru.

Ramdev threatens dharna outside Parliament

BJP President Nitin Gadkari and JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav on Monday shared the dais with Ramdev, who attacked Congress and asked people to throw out the UPA government accusing it of not acting against corruption and blackmoney.
Gadkari and Yadav, the convenor of BJP-led NDA, arrived at the Ramlila Maidan, the venue of Ramdev's fast agitation, at around 11.30 AM.

The NDA leaders appeared on the stage and sat with Ramdev and his supporters. TDP leader Nama Nageshwara Rao, BJP MP Vijay Goel and Akali Dal representatives also shared the stage with Ramdev.
‘Here to back genuine demands’

Addressing the gathering at Ramlila Maidan, the BJP president said, “We are not here for the political cause but to support the genuine demands of Baba Ramdev. The government must respond to these demands immediately.”

The presence of NDA leaders assume significance in the wake of Ramdev taking a vow to defeat the Congress in the 2014 elections.

Mulayam, Sharad Pawar with us: Ramdev

Meanwhile, Ramdev, who is receiving support from the political corridors one after another, claimed the support of UPA ally NCP chief and union minister Sharad Pawar and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

The yoga guru will also protest outside the Parliament.

"Lok Sabha polls will be in 2014 and 99 per cent could be in 2013. This protest is to ensure that no dishonest person enters the Parliament. Such people should be boycotted. We do not have a political agenda," Ramdev said in his address to his supporters on Monday morning.

Notably, Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy also joined Ramdev on Monday and backed the protest against corruption.
