Nitish apologises for SP’s misbehavior

Patna: Two days after a senior lady officer was caught on camera beating woman while protesting electrocution of two persons in Patna’s Kankarbagh, Bihar Chief Minister on Wednesday apologised in the state legislative council for her misbehaviour by saying, “It is my moral responsibility if any state machinery has caused any citizen to face difficulty during my tenure. I apologise for what had happened here.”

Meanwhile, demanding stern action against the police, the Opposition demanded suspension of the city superintendent.

The Opposition also demanded Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia and assistance amount for the next of kin of the deceased.

On Monday evening, two youths were electrocuted near the old bypass in Kankarbagh colony after an open underground power cable charged water supply in the region. Angry protesters staged demonstration and caused road blockade and obstructed the traffic. Soon after the administration learnt about the incident, they rushed to the spot and the lady SP slapped a protesting lady. The lady in turn slapped the SP.

Kumar also appealed from the Opposition not to politicise the matter unnecessarily.
