Addressing the people at Sainia Mahadalit tola where a village elder Ramvriksha Manjhi hoisted the national tricolour, Kumar said his government had launched the Mahadalit Mission a couple of years ago so that the benefits of development and welfare reach the last person in the state as had been desired by Mahatma Gandhi.
The government, he said, had decided to organize Independence day and Republic day functions at Mahadalit villages could participate as any other citizen of the country.
The CM distributed land rights for building houses to 35 Mahadalit families, in addition to benefits under various centre and state welfare schemes.
