New Delhi: With an aim to monitor the implementation of mid-day meal scheme in the 72,000 government schools across the state, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday launched the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS).

Kumar also launched the website of the scheme - The website will provide information gathered through IVRS.

Under the IVRS, headmasters of their respective schools would be asked three questions to elicit information on the presence of students, number of beneficiaries and if the food prepared was as per the menu of the day. The gathered information would be put on the website on daily basis.

“This will make the scheme's implementation more transparent and free from irregularities,” Kumar said.
