New Delhi: In what can be seen as differences between the two main allies of NDA- the BJP and the JD (U) , Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will campaign for Shiromani Akali Dal (BJP and SAD led NDA government) in Punjab but will campaign against the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

Owing to the lack of coordination between the BJP-JD (U) for assembly seats in UP, the Nitish Kumar led Janta Dal (United) will fight the election alone in the state.

“A large number of people from Bihar reside in Punjab. Considering this and the request made by SAD leader, and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Nitish Kumar will campaign during Punjab elections. However, the programme has not yet been finalized,” said JD (U) spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari.

As the BJP and JD (U) failed to form consensus over the seats in Uttar Pradesh, Nitish Kumar’s party will try its luck alone in the UP election. As revealed by the sources, events are being planned for the election campaign by Nitish in eastern region of UP after January 21.

According to JD (U) President, Sharad Yadav, Nitish Kumar will be the star campaigner in UP. “In last few years, UP has been flooded with political leaders having criminal background besides this , there is rise in graft cases. In such a situation we will request people in UP to vote for JD(U) to experience Bihar like government in UP,” said Yadav.

Besides Kumar, other prominent leaders from the JD (U) camp have been deployed for UP elections. It includes MPs like Shivanand Tiwari, RCP Singh, Monazir Hasan, Baidynath Hasan and Pooranmasi Ram.
