New Delhi: Refuting the reports of changing the team formed to probe murder cases of two CMOs and mysterious death of Deputy CMO, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cleared that only the top investigating officials have been altered and not the entire team.

Elaborating the alterations in the team, the CBI said that Javed Ahmed, Joint Director, Lucknow has been replaced by CBI Joint Director R P Agarwal who would be assisted by DIG Neerja Gotru.

According to a CBI senior official, no changes are being done in the team of the Dehradun branch of the CBI which is also handling the investigations.

Clarifying the decision of keeping Javed Ahmed away from the investigations the official said, “As Ahmed is an officer from the UP cadre and also holds important post in the Mayawati government, he himself wanted to keep away from the investigations.” So, R P Agarwal was given the charge, he added.
