Varanasi: The Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be trying its best to iron out the wrinkles developed owing to ‘rath yatra’ of senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani slated to start from October 11.

Addressing mediapersons here on Sunday, BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, Advani’s rath yatra has support and earned confidence of all BJP Chief Ministers including Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.

BJP senior leader and Public Accounts Committee Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi will be present in Varanasi when the yatra will reach here on October 12, he said.

Speaking about the BJP’s strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls in the state, the BJP vice-president said an internal survey puts the BJP as the first choice of public.

Slamming the Chief Minister Mayawati, Naqvi said all her efforts to seek reservations for minorities, SC/ST and other classes were just show-off.

Notably, two other senior BJP leaders, Kalraj Mishra and Rajnath Singh, will be on their separate rath yatras in UP and they will be available in Varanasi to welcome Advani on October 12.
