Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made it clear that further partition of the state is not possible.
While talking to reporters at Patna, Nitish, who supported UP Chief Minister Mayawati’s move to split Uttar Pradesh, said that the contour of Bihar is ideal and there is no need of its further division.

Responding to the demand for separate Mithilanchal state, the Bihar CM said that he is in favour of smaller states but further division of the state will not be a promising move.
“The state is spread over 140000 square kilometer with population of 10 crore. Apart this, Bihar has high population density. To run the state administration properly, there has to be close link between population density and area,” he said. “States should be divided but not in a way that it should comprise only two to three districts,” he added.

“At least 100 legislators are required to bring development in one particular state. Still there are other big states which need division to maintain law and order,” said Nitish.
