Police in the district, over 60 km from here, have made it mandatory for people on the streets after 11 pm to carry an identification proof.

"The aim is not to harass the general public but to check movement of suspicious elements and to curb crimes," Dausa Superintendent of Police Anshuman Bhomia said on Thursday.

If anyone is found roaming after 11 pm without ID proof, he or she will have to spend a night in a police station, or will have to prove his/her credentials. Police also plan to record the late night movement of vehicles in the area.
