Gorakhpur: Leaving no stone unturned for performing well in the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh in 2012, Rahul Gandhi has hinted that the selection of the leader for organizational posts would be decided by the party functionary. This would be implemented for selection of the state in-charge for Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and president for the Youth Congress.

He categorically said the mandate of the party leadership would not be imposed in the selection of the leader for the party posts. Attending the meeting of potential candidates for the Youth Congress held at Gorakhpur, Rahul Gandhi emphasized on increasing the membership of the party.
Addressing the meeting attended by Youth Congress president Rajiv Satav, AICC secretary and MP Meenakshi Natarajan and state Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Rahul Gandhi urged for more participation of youths with the party to help the Youth Congress eliminate corruption.

On the deteriorating education system in Purvanchal, he said that despite many Centrally-sponsored programmes for spreading education, no fruitful result has come to fore due to the negligence of the state government.
