Lucknow: Rashtriya Lok Dal Chief Chaudhary Ajit Singh said there is no political party in Uttar Pradesh which can solely challenge the BSP in the upcoming UP Assembly polls.

Although Singh, expert in stitching coalition, has enough expectations from the Assembly polls, he is not confident about results.
There cannot be alliance between the RLD, BSP and BJP and there are no positive talks with the Congress and SP, he said.

Further, Singh said the BSP is not a statewide option, adding “A significant alliance can only bring better results in Uttar Pradesh.”

When asked whether there was a possibility of alliance between the Congress and the SP, Singh replied, “They have fielded their candidates and even talks are going on. Many people are involved in the coalition talks, so it is difficult to say what will happen.”

Speaking on coalition with the Peace Party and INJP, he said, “The dialogue process is still stuck. Even without any alliance, the RLD is and will remain strong.”

The activeness of the civil society will give new result as after Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption, the common man has understood that the graft and sleaze in the governance will not eradicate poverty.

Singh said the public is standing on the issues which were raised by Chaudhary Charan Singh. “The sadbhavana fast by Modi was a drama which was a result of the BJP’s internal politics,” he added.

Commenting on senior BJP leader LK Advani’s rath yatra in the state, Singh said, “His (Advani) yatra had already created furor in the entire country and proved a flop show. This time too it will fizzle out.”
