Allahabad: The counsels appearing for Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) and builders argued the Noida’s land acquisition case in the Allahabad High Court.

The full judge bench comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice S U Khan and Justice V K Shukla is hearing the cases pertaining to land acquisition of Patwari village.

Navin Sinha, the counsel of GNIDA, has stated that the agreement has been signed between the farmers and builders. Both the parties do not have any objection to the acquisition of land. Everyone wants more compensation, he said.

But during the hearing, senior counsel of Noida builders said, “The court has rejected writ petition of the farmers who have already taken their compensation and signed the agreement with the authorities and the government. Therefore, they cannot challenge the notification for acquisition of their land. Only those farmers have the right to withdraw who have right on the land and have not taken compensation.”

The court has also rejected the GNIDA offer of raising the compensation rates to woo the disenchanted farmers. The court would continue to hear the writ petitions in respect of Patwari village on Wednesday.
