Yadav, who visited Jhansi to inaugurate Arch dam and Sainik school, said young people will be recruited in the UP Police Department on the basis of marksheet, physical test and interview.

In March, Allahabad High Court had sought Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board's (UPPRPB) response within a week on a writ petition, alleging widespread corruption in Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment exam conducted by the board.

The UPPRPB had announced a recruitment notification for 40,000 constable and 2500 Sub-Inspectors in UP Police this year. As per the reports, there are over one lakh vacant posts in the UP Police.

UP Police, formed in 1861, is the largest police force in the world working under a single command.
