Noida: Following the Supreme Court’s orders on sealing of commercial units in the residential areas of Noida, the Noida Authority began its sealing drive on Wednesday morning.  20 commercial units were found to be operating in the residential area of Noida sector 19, out of these 11 buildings were sealed. Owners of 9 other buildings were given a week’s time to shift to commercial areas. However, ATMs were not sealed for the convenience of the people.

The Noida Authority sealed eight banks, one PG, one guest house, one play school, two coaching centers, a medical centre, a biscuit company and a placement agency.

Under the guidance of Captain S K Dwivedi, chief executive officer of Noida authority, the team of police personnel and officers began its sealing drive in sector 19 by sealing Vijaya Bank after which they proceeded to the main road and sealed many unauthorized building that had come up on the road side.

Captain Dwivedi said, “Sealing would not take place on Thursday. Only after the orders of the Supreme Court, further action will be taken. If a stay order is not sought, we would re-start sealing the commercial units on Friday. During the sealing on Wednesday many banks and institutions had begun shifting to commercial areas therefore, no activity could be carried out at such units. One week time has been given to them for relocation.”
