New Delhi: A day after, a class 10th girl was gangraped by five men in a moving car in Noida, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and UP State Women's Commission on Monday issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh Government and the state police seeking report on the steps being taken to handle cases related to crimes against women.

Earlier on Saturday, a seventeen-year-old girl was abducted and gangraped by five men, said to be students of Delhi University. Taking immediate action on the complaint filed by the victim, while four accused Rahul, Himanshu, Sourabh and Sunil were arrested on Sunday, their fifth accomplice Neeraj was nabbed on Monday.

According to police, the victim, resident of Noida sector 40, was waiting in Priyadarshini Park for her father to pick her up. A car stopped near the girl and three persons identified as - Rahul, Sourabh, Neeraj, dragged her into the vehicle. They rushed to Sourabh’s place and called their friend Sunil Rawat (Mass Communication from Dehradun) and Himanshu Sharma (pursuing B.Com degree from Delhi University). They allegedly made her drink a sedative laced drink before raping her. Later, the girl was dumped back in the park and the accused also threatened to kill her if she reported the matter to police.

In an apparent exercise, Noida SSP, Jyoti Narayan on Monday told reporters that an inquiry had been ordered into the case and stern actions would be taken against the accused.

All the five accused were produced in the district court on Monday and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
