Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has stepped up its efforts to resolve the ongoing row between the farmers and the Noida Extension Authority.

After holding talks with villagers of Khairpur and Patwadi, the GNIDA CEO Rama Raman visited Yakubpur on Monday to hold negotiations with the villagers.

The single-point agenda of the meeting was to arrive at a consensus on the compensation amount, the biggest irritant in the entire land row.

An 11-member Committee of farmers was formed that would help in taking over the negotiations, while the Authority on its part agreed to take positive steps to meet the demand of the farmers.

During the three and a half hour meet with the farmers, it was decided that the farmers would draft a proposal containing their demands. The Authority assured that if the proposal would be practical enough, it would be implemented.
