Nokia Asha 500 is installed with 2.8-inch QVGA display. It comes in dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) variant which supports GSM+GSM network connectivity. The smartphone features a two-megapixel rear camera and includes 64MB RAM. The storage capacity of the device can be expanded up to 32GB through microSD card usage.

The device is pre-loaded with Nokia Glance feature that allows users to have a quick look at the notifications even when the phone is in sleep mode. Installation of Nokia Asha software platform 1.1.1 in the phone makes it compatible with instant messaging softwares such as WhatsApp, LINE and WeChat. 

The phone is coupled with 1200 mAh battery and claims talk time of about 14 hours. This handset was earlier launched by Nokia along with Asha 502 and Asha 503 in the Indian market. These three handsets were unveiled by the Finnish company in October.
