The Finnish handset maker has not yet revealed the reason of abandoning Android plans. Though, sources say that Microsoft has got nothing to do with decision. Some reports also claimed that Nokia had planned a 7-inch Android tablet to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 400. Now that Microsoft has acquired Nokia, the possibilities of Android phones had ended.

Earlier, a report stated that Nokia was working on a budget smartphone that will be powered by Google’s Android operating system. Reports further suggested that Android development program was handled by Peter Skillman, who was the former head of Nokia's mobile phones user experience division and the HERE design team.

Market speculations say that Nokia's future wearables will include flexible displays, augmented reality, wireless power transmission, graphene censors and electromagnetic energy generation. Wearables are said to originate from Nokia's Lumia universe in order to eye future devices and the scope of possibilities ahead.
