Nokia, in a mail sent out to existing users with a Nokia account, stated that after the rename, Nokia’s handset and services business will be known as Microsoft Mobile Oy.

Stephen Elop, who was the CEO and president of Nokia before the deal was announced last year, will be heading the division under Microsoft.

According to reports, the leaked e-mail stated that with the sale of Nokia Devices & Services business to Microsoft, a Microsoft Finnish affiliate named Microsoft Mobile will assume responsibility for all personal data and the contractual relationships for the products and services related to the business.

Microsoft is likely to continue using the Nokia as the consumer-facing brand, having licensed it from the Finnish company earlier.
