Chandigarh: The north region conference on ‘convergence for empowerment of women’ will be organized here on March 20-21. About 200 representatives from Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Haryana are likely to participate in the conference.

According to Spokesperson of Women and Child Development department of Haryana government, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be the chief guest at the event while Women and Child Development Minister Geeta Bhukhal will preside over the programme. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Anita Yadav would be the Guest of Honour.

The conference will be attended by the representatives from education, medical, legal authority and commission for women. There will be six technology sessions in the conference such as issues related to women health, their educational and economic empowerment, and gender budgeting and bringing them in the mainstream of the society.
