Scores of students of Delhi University also paid homage to Nido Tania by offering flowers on his portrait.

Besides demanding swift action against those involved in the case, the students also drew the attention of government towards some other issues. One of their demands included setting up a special helpline number for North-East students. They also urged the government to come up with a North-East Cell on the lines of Women’s Cell.

Exhorting all state governments to look into their demands, the demonstrators said that North-East students have always been subjected to indifferent behavior, a trend, which needs to be done away with soon.

The students also underlined the need for state governments’ compassionate attitude towards the people of North-East, residing in various parts across the nation.

Holding candles and pamphlets in their hands, the demonstrators raised slogans to put across their demands.
