New Delhi: Noted lawyer and BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Ram Jethmalani, on Saturday jumpedn into the presidential poll fray saying that he would contest for the top post if the saffron party decides to back Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's candidature.

89-year-old Jethmalani, one of the country’s  top lawyers, said he will fight and expose the truth.  Jethmalani said, "I might lose, but will still contest Presidential poll. Pranab is a friend, but I oppose his candidature... He hasn't revealed names of black money holders."

It is to be noted that in the General Elections of 2004,  he contested against Atal Bihari Vajpayee from the Lucknow constituency as an Independent candidate. Indian National Congress and Sanajwadi Party did not field their candidates in this election. However he lost. Later on, in 2010, he was given a Rajya Sabha ticket by Bharatiya Janta Party from Rajasthan and he was selected.

When contacted by Jagran Post to know his reaction on the issue he didn't respond to it.
