New Delhi: A Special CBI court on Monday will hear the bail plea of former MD of UPSIDC official, AK Vajpayee, an accused allegedly involved in  the multi-crore rupee National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam.

Former Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh small industries industrial development Corporation (UPSIDC), Vajpayee was arrested on January 6 by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The probe agency has arrested three people along with Vajpayee in connection with the multi-crore-rupee health scam in Uttar Pradesh.

Others arrested in the case so far were SP Ram, former director general, family welfare, and Sourav Jain, owner of a private firm.

Earlier, spokesperson of Vajpayee, Sudhir Tyagi had filed the bail plea (for Vajpayee) before the special CBI Judge NK Singh.

The CBI had made these arrests carrying out inter-state searches at about 60 locations, including the residence of former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and his associates, in an effort to unravel the NRHM scam.
