Lucknow: Collecting strong evidences against the former Family Welfare Minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and health officers for their alleged role in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam in Uttar Pradesh, the Central Bureau of Investigation is all set to lodge an FIR against those involved in swindling of the government fund.

The senior CBI officials have granted permission to lodge an FIR against the Principal Secretary, Director UP-NRHM and Chief Medical Officers for purchasing medicines and equipments by violating the norms.

Acting on the directives issued by the High Court to probe into the NRHM scam, sleuths have gathered evidences, documents to prove the embezzlement of funds in Janini Suraksha Yojan, purchase of medicines, equipments, appointment of health workers and construction of health centres.

According to the CAG report, more than Rs 1800 crore of NRHM fund has been invested without any approval.
