Lucknow: Investigating the NRHM scam, the CBI in the last two days conducted 58 raids at the residences of top officials of the health department, contractors and firm proprietors. Concrete evidences have emerged from the raids and the investigative agency is soon expected to take action in this regard.

Three top medicine distributors allegedly involved in the scam are already being questioned by the CBI. Whereas, other accused will be called over to Delhi for further investigations.

During the raids in 23 districts of the state the CBI searched Bank accounts, movable and immovable property and lockers of the CMO, former CMO, deputy CMO and the firm proprietors.

It also inquired about the recruitments that were made earlier in the NRHM and the role played by different officials in this regard.

The agency also collected the receipts, bill vouchers and other documents as evidences.

The CBI is keeping a close watch on a top pharmacist who is believed to have misused his power and position to carry out the scam.

According to sources, the CBI on Saturday questioned the officials involved in the scam, but a formal notice against them will be issued from Delhi. While some of the investigating officers returned to the national capital and listed all the evidences found during the raids, a few stayed back for further investigations.
