New Delhi: Amid the election season, the woes of BSP ruled Uttar Pradesh government is likely to mount soon as the senior IAS officer Pradeep Shukla has expressed his willingness to cooperate in the CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in execution and implementation of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

Shukla, an accused in the multi-crore scam, on Wednesday met the top officials of CBI at the headquarters here and expressed his willingness to cooperate in the investigation, highly placed CBI sources said.

He was the principal secretary (Family Welfare) during the tenure of former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and has been questioned by the CBI twice in connection with the case.

As per the sources, the IAS officer has even offered to become witness in the case. But so far no official statement from the CBI has come out in this regard.

Notably, the CBI had conducted raids at his premises and office on January 19 in this connection. However, he has not been called for inquiry by the CBI after the search operations.
