"Out of 9,700 athletes, only six tested positive, most of them from team games," said OCA president Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Sabah on Saturday.

OCA's medical commission head and former Asian sprint champion Dr Mani Jegathesan said there was a robust anti-doping programme set in place.

"We tested 1607 athletes and six tested positive," said Dr Jegathesan and identified five dope offenders' discipline and nationalities.

"The Games were of high competitiveness," said OCA's life vice-president Wei Jizhong.
