New Delhi: The BJP seems to be landing in a fresh controversy over coal block allocations in Khandhamal mines in Odisha as one of its senior state leaders allegedly made recommendations for his relatives and friends to grab natural resources at throw away prices.

Sources said the senior BJP leader helped private firms get coal blocks in Kandhamal mines. The recent revelation put the BJP in dock.

The entire Monsoon Session of the Parliament washed out as the BJP had stalled the proceeding of the Houses over CAG report of whooping Rs 1.86 crore losses from coal block allocations.

The chief ministers of BJP-ruled states were also the parts of the screening committee which allocates the coal block allocations. The saffron party even went to the extent for the maximum demand of resignation of the Prime Minister over the contentious coal block allocations.
