The driver, identified as Raj Singh from Rajasthan, has been terminated from Ola's platform, the company said.

In her complaint, the Belgian woman said she was travelling on Saturday in the cab from Gurgaon to Delhi when she was molested by the driver, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Randhawa told reporters.

The driver had requested the woman to sit on the front seat to help him with the directions claiming the cab's GPS system was not working, Randhawa said.

The woman made the complaint on Saturday night, a few hours after the incident. Ola said in a statement: "The driver has been terminated from the platform with immediate effect.

"We will share all required information with the authorities to help resolve this for the customer. We have zero tolerance for such behaviour from drivers."

This is not first time when an app-based driver committed such crime, earlier,  on December 5, 2014 a 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped by the driver of the cab. She had hired to return home from a dinner party in Gurgaon. The incident took place when the woman, who works for a finance company in Gurgaon, was headed back to her home in north Delhi's Inderlok area.

11 month later, the accused Uber cab driver was sentenced to life imprisonment till his natural death. The court awarded the maximum sentence for the offence which endangered the life of the 25-year-old woman. 32-year-old Shiv Kumar Yadav was given the life imprisonment by Additional Sessions Judge Kaveri Baweja who held that the convict while raping the victim abducted her with an intent to compel her for marriage.

The court had also directed the Delhi Legal Services Authority to give compensation to the victim and to take care of the family of the convict. The accused was arrested on December 7, 2014 from Mathura. The prosecution had produced 28 witnesses in the case.
