“I’d like to unequivocally condemn today’s militant attack in Kathua area of Jammu. As this is very much still an ongoing operation,” Omar said on microblogging site twitter.

“I will not be commenting or reacting to today’s events until the security forces have declared the operation as concluded,” he added in his tweet.

At least one person was killed and three others were injured when some unidentified gunmen wearing army uniforms fired at a private vehicle in Kathua.
A senior police officer told reporters that the unidentified gunmen stopped a Mahindra Balero vehicle at Dayala Chak in Kathua district on the Jammu-Pathankote National Highway at around 4:30 am on Friday.

After hijacking the vehicle, the gunmen attacked an army camp near Janglote in the same district where a gunfight started between them and security personnel, the officer added.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
