Jammu: Soon after the fire that killed 81 patients in a local hospital of Kolkata on Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah directed the Fire and Emergency Services Department to get a safety audit done for all government and associated hospitals and nursing homes in the state.

They have been asked to complete the exercise and submit a detailed report by December 20.

State government has issued notices to all hospital administrations to install all necessary equipments required during a fire mishap.

Fire and Service department have been told to keep an eye on all hospitals. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home and Revenue, Nasir Aslam Wani has issued the directions to all hospitals to arrange necessary firefighting equipments to avoid untoward incident that results in loss of life.
