Srinagar: Awami National Conference (ANC) vice-president Muzaffar Shah has asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah along with his family members to declare their assets.

Shah also appraised the various PILs and RTIs filed by ANC and the progress made in these cases.

While addressing the media persons, Shah said that in order to fight corruption, a cleansing operation has to be undertaken. “The people in public life should come clean on their assets and incomes and as a first step in this direction,” he said.

“The ANC public campaign launched against corruption, abrogation of Disturbed Areas Act, and release of political detainees was joined by large number of people en-route,” a spokesperson of the party said.

Referring to the withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) he said, “Chief Minster deliberately is delaying the issue as he is more concerned about his chair than the people.”
