Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed anger over the media reported seditious remarks of his uncle and senior NC leader Dr Mustafa Kamal. Kamal had a day back purportedly called India and its government an enemy of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Kamal is a younger brother of Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy-Farooq Abdullah.
Exasperated on Kamal’s statement, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has twitted, “Funny thing is I don't need anyone to make things difficult for me when I have relatives to do it for me. They say never work with animals & children. I think it's safe to add relatives to that list as well.”

Addressing National Conference workers in Kishtwar of Jammu Division, Kamal had one day back said that security forces are threatening peace and harmony in the state. Kamal had called the armed forces responsible for tense environment in the state instead of the militants. He had also lashed out at Centre for not responding positively to the peace initiatives of the Pakistani government.
Retorting to this statement by the senior NC leader, spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP, Dr Jitendra Singh, had said that Abdullah family must remember that its three generations enjoyed power in the state. He had also added that weaknesses of Congress leadership are encouraging the forces inimical to India to make such seditious statements.
Mustafa Kamal is well known for his penchant for making controversial statements. His previous statements caused a lot of embarrassments for the ruling National Conference. Earlier he had said that Congress is blighted by factionalism. He had also once accused the army of being involved in plotting explosions in the state capital Srinagar. Once, the senior NC leader had charged the Congress minister in the state government as the agents of Centre and indulged in corruption. After this statement, Farooq Abdullah had removed his brother from the post of party’s spokesperson and additional general secretary of the party. However, later Kamal was reinstated as the additional general secretary of the NC.
