“Looks like Smriti Irani's campaign has just been shellacked & it didn't even need Rahul to visit Amethi,” the Chief Minister tweeted.

On Tuesday, Smriti Irani had expressed confidence that she will win the ‘Battle of Amethi’, saying, "The party has trusted on my merit and capacity to field me as a candidate from Amethi for the next parliamentary polls and I accept this challenge humbly.”

When asked how Smriti, who is also the BJP national vice-president, felt on being pitted against the Congress vice-president, she said, "When a warrior goes in the battlefield, he tries to win... and I will also win this battle."

Apart from Irani and Rahul, other prominent candidates from the seat are Aam Aadmi Party's Kumar Vishwas and BSP's Dharmendra Pratap Singh.
