Film: One By Two

Director: Devika Bhagat

Cast: Abhay Deol, Preeti Desai, Rati Agnihotri, Jayant Kriplani,

Story Line: Amit Sharma (Abhay Deol) and Samaira (Preeti Desai) have a lot of personal dreams but life does not move ahead as per their expectations. Samaira aspires to be a very good dancer, on the other hand Amit is sick of the good boy tag. The two are strangers but its destiny which brings them closer. As the movie progresses, the two break the shallows of the boredom to discover themselves. They eventually realise what they wanted from their lives.

Movie review: Though it seems that the story line of the film is bit complicated, the characterization of every protagonist is perfect. The characters of the film are well-suited and realistic. Abhay Deol is always at his best in portraying the unconventional aspect of life on the big screen. This actually does not go well with the society, but it’s his charisma and performance which convinces the audience to believe that this is the right way.

Talking about the performances, Abhay Deol is brilliant in his performance and plays his part with aplomb. Newcomer Preeti Desai has freshness in her acting. It’s her dance in the movie which may attract public attention. The real- life couple looks good together in reel- life also.

The direction of Devika Bhagat, who has also penned the story of the movie, is not commendable as sometimes you may feel that she lacks confidence on her own story when it comes to executing it properly. The music by Shankar Ehsaan and Loy is another weak point of this film.

One By Two might attract audiences to the box-office owing to the average performance of Salman Khan’s Jai Ho. After watching this movie, you will not regret your decision.
