Under this policy, builders will be allowed to construct either a housing society or a colony on 2-10 acres of land. A farmer will be equally eligible to acquire the license if he has the said plot of land. He can build the house and sell it.

The policy provides an extra advantage to the farmers as they will be able to sell the plot of land to the builders at the market rates. The policy also states that the government will not acquire an inch of land for the builders.

Those who want to acquire the plot can buy it at the market rates. The government is planning to provide land to the people of Panchkula at Rs 1521 per square metre under the 'Affordable Housing Scheme'.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the builders of Panchkula have offered to build houses at the said rates. Now, people can buy affordable houses in big cities like Gurgaon and Faridabad. As of now the Haryana government will build around one lakh houses for poor.
