The Yu Yuphoria, priced at Rs 6,999, this time not require pre registerations for its purchase.

The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 runs on Android Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.  The device runs on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 2GB RAM. Yuphoria has 16GB of internal storage and weighs 143 grams.

Micromax Yuphoria gets its power from an 2230mAh battery that charges upto 65 percent in 45 minutes. With centrally aligned 5MP front camera and 4P lens, its great for taking selfies.

YU plans to take on it's rival Xiaomi, Chinese tech conglomerate which has become hotly anticipated because of its recently launched 'Remi Note 2' handset which runs on Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat) and is clocked at Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 complimented by 2 GB RAM.

YU has earlier also tried to take on its competitor Xiaomi, stressing that Xiaomi's budget smartphones run on  Android 4.4 KitKat whereas YU's upcoming devices will sport upgraded version,  Android Lollipop.
