Gurgaon: Expediting its probe into kidnapping and gang-rape of a 23-year old girl by seven men, the police on Wednesday arrested Amarjeet, sixth accused in the case. However, the seventh accused is still absconding.
 
According to police, Amarjeet is a resident of Rohtak.

The victim works in a pub at a Gurgaon Mall and is resident of Badarpur area of New Delhi. The incident took place while she was returning home in a radio taxi after her duty in the pub on Sunday night. Seven youths in a Maruti 800 car forced the taxi driver to stop the vehicle and kidnapped her and took her to a flat where they raped her.

After the assault, the girl was dropped near Chattarpur Metro Station.

On Wednesday, NGOs working against atrocities against women took out a candlelight march near the Sahara Mall demanding adequate punishment for the miscreants.

The police informed that the 23-year-old victim is married and has a three year old daughter.

A case has been lodged against the miscreants at the DLF Phase-2 police station, Gurgaon.
