They will now be able to make their OPD cards with the help of internet on lines of railway reservation. All the preparations have been made in this regard by the government. The facility will be available in 24 government hospitals from June 1.
As per the new system, people will have to go the official website of the Health & Family Welfare Department and then go to online OPD registration system. After clicking on the system, the user will have to make a log-in ID.
It is noted that in Delhi government hospitals, the OPD counters generally open at 9 am in the morning. Patients and attendants have to stand in queue for hours and wait for their turn. In Delhi government hospitals, 33 percent of patients come from neighbouring states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar.
100 cards to be made for each department
The facility of online registration of OPD cards will start at 24 government hospitals including Loknayak, GTB Pant, DDU, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, and Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in the national capital. Now, everyday 100 cards will be made online for each department.
It is not necessary to make the OPD card online only on the same day the patient has to undergo check-up. The card can be made a week or month earlier. The patient will have to register his name, department’s name, address and the doctor’s name.
