Kolkata: The support of opposition parties to the West Bengal government for the creation of the Legislative Council has increased the possibilities of timely completion of the process.

Chairman of the Committee on the formation of Legislative Council, Partha Chatterjee said leader of Opposition in state Assembly, Suryakant Mishra is likely to attend the committee meeting scheduled for July 15.

The state government wants to submit the report to the WB Speaker Biman Bandopadhyay within six weeks. Thereafter, the bill will be introduced in both the houses of Parliament. Finally, it would be forwarded to the President for her consent.
